IMPROVING PRAGMATIC COMPETENCE USING CORPUS TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

Importance of pragmatic competence has already become one of the vital parts of learning and teaching EFL. Nowadays young generation need to acquire not only receptive and productive skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing but also pragmatic competence which serve to achieve fluent, perfect application of language like native speakers. There are several investigations which were conducted to find effective ways of applying pragmatics into English teaching programs. The latest one is involving corpus technology to this process. This paper provides data about usage of corpus technology in English classrooms.
