THE NOTION OF IMPLICATURE IN PRAGMATICS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Pragmatics, as a branch of linguistics, studies the context-dependent meanings of language. This field studies not only the grammatical and lexical aspects of language, but also how it functions in a social and cultural context. The concept of implication is one of the central elements of pragmatics. It helps to understand what additional meanings a sentence implies, apart from its direct meaning.
